The Teknit Boot is the winner of the Equitana Innovation Award

Horse Pilot is proud to announce that the Teknit Boot has received the first price at the
Equitana Innovation Award in the category of Equestrian and Workwear, Safety Products.
Horse Pilot was created to imagine the future of riding. 10 years later, it is still the same
desire that drives them every day.

“We design technical clothing for riders who live horse riding as a sport. Innovation is the main part of our DNA: facilitate movement, increase performance, improve comfort, and protect riders. The Teknit Boot and this award confirm our innovation strategy.”

The Equitana Innovation Award is one of the most prestigious international awards in
the equestrian sector. This year, the pre-selections were made by the users and riders
themselves. After the different votes took place a final to determine the winner of each
category.

After 3 years of development, 2 patent pending, 6000 hours of testing, Horse Pilot has
launched the Teknit Boot, a riding boot that is one of the most comfortable. A product that brings a true revolution and new sensations to riders.

«One size fits all» concept promises a boot that fits a wide range of body shapes thanks to
a highly expandable and breathable 3D mesh fabric. The result is a boot that is equivalent
to a made-to-measure fit. Just choose your size and the boot will do the rest.
The Teknit Boot is part of this new generation of riding boots that combine the comfort of
a sneaker with performance and ensure excellent support for the foot and leg.

With the «one size fits all» concept, they have 15 times less references per size, so
less stock, less transport and less waste. The size of the box is also reduced thanks to
the fabric without leather that can be rolled up. « So long, shoe trees », « bye bye, big
boxes » for storing or carrying the Teknit Boot! The volume saved, approximately 120%
compared to a conventional pair of riding boots, has a direct impact on several stages
of the product’s life cycle: reduced packaging, reduced transport volumes, reduced
storage space in factories, Horse Pilot warehouses and saddleries.

The waste that is created during textile product manufacture is a major source
of pollution. We are constantly working to reduce our environmental impact by
optimising our cutting. With the Teknit Boot, the 3D print/knit process goes from the
yarn straight to the final product. This avoids having to cut material, creating fabric
scraps that end up in the bin.

The 3D Knit material (around the leg and ankle) is made from 63% recycled polyester.
The outer part of the foot is 40% recycled polyester and the inside linings are 100%
recycled or bio-sourced. The barcode label is water-based. The cleaning bag is made
from 100% recycled polyester southafrica-ed.com. The packaging box is 100% recycled cardboard and the
inside printing is soy-based.
